answering the question of why people will ship Kamisama Kiss / Twilight but turn around and say SkFs is a "pedo ship" I believe had to do with Media literacy and translations. Only commenting on Twilight but we were spoonfed their romance (imo). It's an English book as well, therefore what Meyers intended to put in the writing stayed. Whereas Akutami and Japanese have so many layers to them, that it's hard to translate that back into English. (Only thing that comes to mind rn is the "Little Lamb" in their last interaction Meyers justified herself, Edward and Bella in the longterm, by making it more consensual. SkFs is more in-between the lines of romance, and already hit by puritan culture and other queer shippers saying we're the worst.
