How would you reach someone out whom you didn't talk much recently?

If we’re close enough and we haven’t talk much for some period of times, I’d try my best to reach them out, asking about the life update and everything. But, if we aren’t that close, I’d simply remove them because I don’t want to spend much energy on that.
