what's your process for writing? like, how do you get into the mood and stuff like that?
By now I don't really get into the mood because I'm used to just getting to work whenever I need to. I find it hard to focus on writing when there's any noises, music or specially dialogue going around, so I try to do it in as much silence as I can. Lately, I've also found out that using Pomodoro works for me as well! I tend to get distracted easily, and that seems to get rid of the problem.
Additionally, if I'm writing a sequel or a story that's supposed to follow up something else I wrote before, I will read it before I start writing so that I can start with a similar tone. Or if a story features a character I know or somebody who has a strong presence online, I'll read some of their posts/chats to try and copy their tone for the dialogues.
Also, uh... a few years ago I used to write more at night, but nowadays I'm much more productive in the mornings, not sure why!
