i am going to be honest but I think 80% of Natlan criticism boils down to people hating women and I am sorry to say this but Fontaine actually gave in to the worst people with certain narrative choices - as Sumeru did
i literally liked fontaine in controlled doses despite how hard navia and the twins had to carry the whole thing, like the grandiose storytelling style was genuinely enjoyable and focalors is still one of the game's most complex depictions of a divine being outside of lore books and side quests. then i spent a good 2 months after the last AQ being nailed to a cross for both not liking furina enough in favor of neuvillette AND not liking neuvillette enough in favor of furina to the point where i threw the whole thing out.
