Hi fran! do you have any groups you would recommend for someone who is just getting into kpop? I feel like our tastes are similar so I trust you. thanks advance 💌

&Team! Oh my goodness, &Team. I cannot overstate how incredible they are. Technically Jpop, they’re a nine member group that recently celebrated their second anniversary. They’re incredible dancers and performers and their music has a really, really cool alt-rock vibe. Their concept is also super interesting (they’re werewolves — canonically — and there’s lots of lore surrounding the story, including a webtoon) and if you, like me, are very into storytelling, theirs is a great one to sink your teeth into!

They have two full albums, plus last year they released projects that followed all four seasons of the year and not only are the songs truly great, the videos are stunning. The cinematography is gorgeous! Their latest release is Deer Hunter (a serve and a HALF) but the way to do it is to go back and binge all their music if you want to feel something (or everything).

All the members are incredibly talented and sweet and they really feel like a pack. They have a fun variety show called Go One you can watch if you’d like to get to know them better.

The fandom, as far as I know, is also quite chill compared to others so if this is your first experience it would probably be a nice way to ease yourself into this sort of space.

🤍
