another fun bitching idea: Feng Xin is so fucking done with Mu Qing acting so high and mighty, that he decides to bitch him as a punishment. Alphas don't abandon their packs. Betas do. Mu Qing doesn't deserve the power or prestige, so Feng Xin is going to bring him down.
He starts using his teeth when they fight. Pinning Mu Qing for longer, and force-scenting him. Mu Qing isn't dumb, he knows Feng Xin is up to something, but he had Guoshi (tm) sex ed. (and maybe changing alpha/beta/omega/etc is something only gods can do, like a change of form) He thinks that Feng Xin is doing this just to humiliate him (which it also does - an alpha smelling like another alpha instead of themself? scandalous!)
However: Feng Xin miscalculated. All that he is doing would force a normal alpha to become a beta, but Mu Qing is abstinent and suppresses his ruts.... The herbs he uses for that are the same ones used for promoting omega health.....
The changes hit Mu Qing hard and fast. He is forced into an Omega form, and suddenly can't switch back. He rightfully blames Feng Xin, but this time when they fight, Feng Xin holds him down and instead of being able to twist out of it, his instincts make him go limp.
And look - Feng Xin knows its wrong. However, he's got 500 years of abandonment issues and suddenly has a way to make sure that Mu Qing, the last reminder of his home, cannot force him to leave like Xie Lian did.
He bites down on Mu Qing's mating gland before the omega even has a chance to protest.

next time all he needs is for his deputies to let feng xin in, let him go feral at the scent of his mate in heat, and mu qing knows he'll be pregnant.
