okay here’s another one! in shakespeare’s macbeth, “eye of newt” and “tongue of dog” is mentioned, but both are plants! they’re mustard seeds and houndstongue respectively hehe (speaking as both someone whose lit book was macbeth and someone who’s a nerd~)

that's certainly interesting, thanks for the fun fact liri!!, but now i'm wondering why they were called these names, any idea?
