I'm all for accountability, but its important these videos are not edited, commented over and long-form in nature. While it may reduce views to begin with, its a lot harder to defend, it will also help others with different views match it to the video. By all means make a short form edit to attract eyes to the story but the source must be credible.
How are you? Honestly?
The US stock market registered a noticeable decline in tech stocks just because a chinese AI company announced their newest generative model was cheaper to operate. Are investors dumb? I maintain my opinion that tech companies are overvalued but that decline felt pretty exaggerated.
I had to give this a google, the lawsuit failed - The tribunal judge stated that “disability discrimination occurs when a disabled person is treated less favourably than a comparator who is not disabled. Those who do not have a disability cannot receive 75% of salary for their entire working life without having to do any work,” therefore “it follows that the non-disabled [employee] is treated less favourably than the disabled, not the other way round.” He received £54,000 a year while on the 12 years of sick leave. Originally absent from work due to mental health and then 4 years later due to advanced leukaemia. My thoughts are that IBM have a very patient and generous disability plan and I worry such use of it may cause them (and the industry) to make it less favourable to people moving forward. I agree with the courts ruling.
Tbh I'm still learning about what is going on, but I have seen some interviews a while ago mentioning that there was a severe lack of water in the fire hydrants and the city is designed in such a way that should the wind blow in a certain direction, fire could travel unchallenged... unfortunately this reality has been realised. Given its foreseeability, you'd hope that the Chief Fire Officer would forward plan for such a glaring safety issues, but no one looks good in the lens of hindsight... really feeling for people, seems like a fire that can't really be stoped until a natural fire break is present at this point. I'm sure all issues will be politicised, but I just hope a thorough inquiry is done when things eventually settle and some serious learning points are implemented again, this frankly shouldn't happen.
